"Autism now affects 1 in 110 children and 1 in 70 boys in our country.  This represents a 57% increase from 2002 to 2006 and a 600% increase in just the past 20 years.  The statistics are staggering, but they are not merely numbers, each number is a child --a wonderful, unique and precious child as well as a family who will be committed, devoted, and forever altered by their child's diagnosis.

While there are several large organizations  committed to raising awareness and conducting research for Autism, it does not necessarily trickle down to members of our community.  Many local families have been touched by these disorders and are in dire need need of local support and assistance.  The Gloucester County Special Services Education Foundation is a non-profit organization that is committed to providing outreach, education and support for those in our region affected by the challenges of living with Autism Spectrum Disorders.  Team "Kiss My Aspergers" was formed to raise money for this foundation.
