"Watch Your Back...Melanoma May Be Closer Than You Think"

Choosing one cause to support is a very difficult decision to make each year.  In 2011 we received submissions from three different members affected by Melanoma: one who lost a family member, one who has recently been diagnosed, and one whose sister has and continues to fight the disease for over 20 years.  As triathletes, spending countless hours training outside, it is imperative that we are educated on the detection AND prevention of Melanoma.  Our goal is to educate each and every one of our members, and spread that awareness throughout our community.  We will also raise money through our tech shirt sponsorship, 1st Annual Golf Outing, and other events to benefit the Melanoma International Foundation.  The Melanoma International Foundation was founded by Catherine Poole, a 22 year Melanoma survivor and patient advocate, to provide the scientifically sound guidance and support that was so difficult to find during her own diagnosis and treatment.
